Labour Force Regions
The Labour Force Regions information brief is based on the monthly ABS publication, Labour Force: Australia, Detailed – Electronic Delivery (cat. no. 6291.0.55.001). It provides a brief summary (based on a 12-month moving average) of employment, labour supply and the unemployment rate for each of the 13 labour force regions within Queensland. As of October 2011, a one-page summary brief, comparing all 13 regions is also available. Click the HTML link below to access the single-region briefs and the one-page summary. The zip file contains the 13 region briefs and the one-page summary brief.
Labour Force Regions Notes
Labour Force estimates from Jan-11 to Mar-13 have been revised to align the labour force population benchmarks with the latest available information on population growth.
Data for Queensland as a whole are provided for reference purposes only. Users should refer to monthly trend estimates from the Labour Force Survey for analysis of labour market performance at the State level.
The labour force statistics presented in this brief are on a sample basis and will include a sampling error. As such, these estimates will exhibit, in some cases, large volatility in monthly changes. Extreme caution should be used when making inferences from these estimates.
Totals may not add due to rounding. Figures are rounded to nearest 100 persons. Calculations are based on pre-rounded figures.
