Towards estimates of service populations to inform planning in small areas (archived)
This 2006 discussion paper investigates the concept of service populations and issues involved in deriving them at small area level. The paper builds on early work progressed by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (Cook, 1996 and Lee, 1999) towards identifying relevant data sources and appropriate methodologies to estimate specified service populations for Local Government Areas.
