Queensland Government Population Projections: Queensland and Statistical Divisions
The current edition, released in 2008, takes into account new population data based on the results of the 2006 Census of Population and Housing and new intelligence on fertility, mortality and migration. Continued high net interstate and overseas migration and a rising number of births will contribute to the population increase.
The publication, Queensland Government population projections to 2056: Queensland and statistical divisions, 2008 edition, contains summary projections and assessments of the changing composition, distribution and location-specific impacts behind the information. Projections are available at the state level to 2056 and for individual statistical divisions to 2031.
The revised projections were developed through the Queensland Government Population Projection Advisory Group (comprising demographic experts from across Government and from the University of Queensland).
