ERRATA: Population projections by five-year age group and sex for these statistical local areas (SLAs) were corrected on 22 March 2012: Cairns (R) - Douglas, Cassowary Coast (R) - Cardwell, Cassowary Coast (R) - Johnstone, Gladstone (R) - Gladstone, Tablelands (R) - Atherton, Tablelands (R) - Eacham, Tablelands (R) - Herberton and Tablelands (R) - Mareeba.
SLA population projections (medium series) by five-year age group and sex are available in the Excel and CSV files below, for every five years from 2006 to 2031 on the 2011 Australian Standard Geographical Classification (ASGC).
These population projections are based on assumptions concerning future fertility, mortality and migration patterns for each age group. The medium series population projections generally form the most likely long-term scenario for population change.
