Queensland Government population projections: Reference information

Queensland Government population projections, 2011 edition, have been released for Queensland, statistical divisions (SDs), local government areas (LGAs) and statistical local areas (SLAs). The publications presented below provide information on the research processes, methodology and assumptions used to produce these projections.

Methodology summary provides a brief description of the methodologies used by the Office of Economic and Statistical Research (OESR) to produce population projections for the 2011 edition at each level of geography (state, SD, LGA and SLA).

Background research is a paper presented to the Queensland Government Population Projections Advisory Group to assist with determining the population projection assumptions.

Methodology, assumptions and scenarios for Queensland introduces the key aspects of the projections methodology and the underlying assumptions about population growth at the state and SD level. It also provides some alternative population projection scenarios and assesses the historical significance of recent trends.

Methodology for local government areas provides details of the process employed by OESR during 2010 and early 2011 to produce the Queensland Government population projections for LGAs, 2011 edition.
