Estimates of Queensland Productivity Performance
This report provides an update of multifactor productivity (MFP) estimates for Queensland and the Rest of Australia for the period 1985–86 to 2009–10. Productivity performance is best analysed in terms of productivity cycles, the last of which is estimated to have ended in 2007–08. The main goal of producing MFP estimates is to understand the importance of productivity in driving economic growth and improving living standards.
The Methodology for Compiling State Estimates of Multifactor Productivity provides a technical overview of the methodology used to calculate estimates contained in An Historical Analysis of Productivity in Queensland.
