The process for the 2003 CensusAtSchool was as follows:

1.  Schools registered their interest by completing a simple registration form on our web site.

2.  primary school census material and the secondary school census material for downloading included:

(i)	The Census form;
(ii)	Instructions for teachers;
(iii)	Notes on the Census form;
(iv)	Available analyses;
(v)	Excel summary sheet.

3.  Students completed the questionnaire at a suitable time as near as possible to the census week (10-14 March).

4.  Results from the individual questionnaires were entered onto the summary template. This one doen by a teacher or a trusted student acting like an enumerator in the Australian Census of Population and Housing. The summary sheet was to be returned by email.

5.  Schools kept a copy of their summary table for future use, including comparison with state and regional data from the census, or even with data from the United Kingdom.
