Historical Maps
In 1861, the Deputy Registrar General, the Reverend Robert Creyke, highlighted the problems associated with statistical boundaries. He declared a need for “the publication of a reliable map showing, where possible, the various divisions of the Colony into Counties, Parishes, and Municipalities, also showing the boundaries of the Electoral, Registration, Police or Commissioners' Districts, would be of great use, and will I think be found necessary”.
The maps are the first original available maps of Queensland. OESR has also included an overlay of each map with Google Maps and provide a range of options for printing the full map or map segments which can be printed on A4 paper.
