Information Dissemination

OESR provides a variety of information and data dissemination services. Data sources include Australian Bureau of Statistics, other Commonwealth agencies, State Government agencies and non-government providers.

Data extraction

OESR can provide data extracted from a variety of statistical datasets, such as foreign trade, employee injuries, courts, births, mortality, etc.  Regular data files or fixed-format reports can also be produced for official reporting requirements.  Data can also be extracted on an ad-hoc basis for specific questions.

Requests for statistics

OESR provides an authoritative point of access for statistics on Queensland and its regions. We respond to queries for statistical information and advice from government departments and agencies, the business community and the public.

Under normal workloads, requests are completed within 2 to 3 working days. Most requests are completed free of charge. However larger requests may attract a fee.

To request a statistic, please complete the on-line form.

Information briefs

A wide range of information briefs are produced by OESR on recently released statistics.  The information briefs provide a summary of selected statistics on demography, economics, education, employment, health, housing, transport and use of information technology.

Regional profiles

The new web-based version of the Queensland Regional Profiles allows users to produce comprehensive socio-economic profiles based on the latest statistics available for Queensland regions. Users can select from a list of topics and choose a region(s) to create a report featuring regional level economic, social and demographic information.

Information Outreach Program
